Smart Cookies Childcare isn't an ordinary family daycare. Upon meeting me and seeing the environment you will agree! My philosophy of care is simple. Children learn best when two key needs are met. First, there needs to be consistency and routine. Our days here start the same and end the same. There are no surprises in the structure of the day so children feel secure. This is your child's "home away from home". They need to feel safe, secure and cared for and that their needs will always be met. We have a schedule that is always posted and our routines include small and large group activities, outdoor play, free choice time and healthy morning and afternoon snacks. The second key to quality child care is children learn best through play that interests them. My curriculum is themed based. Every week there is a new theme and all of the activities correspond to it. I use the children as a guide to what the themes will be based on their own interests. When children take active roles in their learning, they will get more out of it. Learning is fun!!
